[it's been learning and it has learned how to do one very important thing. the traveler draws an image on the journal for everyone to see since it seems appropriate, what with how everyone is acting.]

[since it can only answer the journal by stepping on it, the traveler is going to be out and following after people it thinks is interesting.

which is pretty much everyone in the village. it's curious as to why suddenly everyone is trying to find Others with such vehemence, so when it sees someone, it will run after them to follow them. maybe they can give it a clue as to what is going on.]

[Whoa, that is loud--to Cilan's credit, he manages to not drop it at the sudden noise, but he does kneel back down to set it on the ground momentarily as he seems to be checking to make sure he's not suffering from hearing loss...no, okay, we're still good.]

Th--that was quite a loud shout... [Ow. We still can't tell if the noise was meant to be a good or bad thing, but if it's any consolation, his shoulders are close enough to try to climb on them again. Provided it doesn't fall off or topple him over onto the ground completely. ^^;;]

[oops. sorry, Cilan, it just gets excited easily and shouting was the way it used to power up its buddy.

back on the ground, the traveler looks at Cilan and tilts its head. then it looks at Pansage and realises they are nearly eye-level. HEY! CLIMBING TIME.

the traveler flaps its cloak once and lifts into the air, floating up and then back down onto Cilan's unoccupied shoulder. despite its size, it weighs next to nothing and balances quite easily on his shoulder.

[Oh! Cilan seems to get it now--though he's not making to stand up just yet, still keeping on his knees for now as he laughs a little.]

I take it you like the view from there? [Maybe it was jealous of Pansage getting to hang out there? Pansage is looking curiously past it's trainer's head at the other now. Does it really not have arms to hold onto with...?]

[no arms at all, but that doesn't matter! the traveler is quite content to stand on Cilan's shoulder and twitters to itself and to Pansage, tossing little runes up into the air]

[Cute...they're both looking curiously at the little runes before Pansage actually points to them and says something in Pokemon speak, as if asking it's trainer if it knows what those are.]

Hm...I'm not sure, but maybe they are it's way of communicating. They've got an interesting taste to them, wouldn't you agree? [Pansage headtilts a little before making a noise that seems to mean agreement, even if doesn't know what they are either.]

[it twitters again and the same runes keep popping up over and over. then it leans forward and rubs its face against Cilan's hair tufts. preening!]

[Well now Cilan can't help but suspect if the traveler is some kind of bird-like creature that wears a cloak and maybe that's why it communicates with chirps. Not that it matters too much, he supposes. Instead he just laughs at it's preening.

He'll reach out a free hand to try to pat it's head again after a moment, once he's sure that he's not going to accidentally knock it off his shoulder.]

[it keeps preening until it feels Cilan's hand on its head, then it turns to chase after the hand, nuzzling at his fingers. hooray, new friends! let's go on a journey together♥]
