[the traveler has appeared on the edge of town along the road. anyone in the surrounding buildings may have heard it chirping and calling out as it runs toward the town square. and anyone it encounters along the way will have a close to three foot tall red cloaked creature running circles around them.

[father? mother? family. the thing Spock asked about family, people have been asking about it. it must be a normal thing.

it senses the sadness and pain in Spock and it presses up against his side, bowing its head.]

my world is dead, too. there is no one in it but me and the Other. everyone is gone. i do not understand family, but i understand your sadness.

[Spock gingerly wraps an arm around Traveler and contents himself to 'enjoy the moment'.]

[this world is nice. it is sad to think it is no longer living. perhaps it will be reborn like its own world is slowly trying to make itself over again. one day]

It was unfair of me to remove you from Luceti when you were showing signs of confusion, I shall return us now... Though I wish to stay, we can always come back together at a later date.

[The world around them slowly fades, and they are once again on the ground near the woods in Luceti.

[Confusion. Suddenly the distant world is gone, the rock and hot sun and sand are gone. The traveler is confused again, and it looks up at Spock curiously.]

Yes it is little one. Maybe someday you will be able to go back to your home, but for now we stay here.

[Spock pauses before he adds...]

You and I are also not able to talk unless we keep in physical contact...however, I find your mind not invasive, so please feel free to make contact with my hands whenever you see me.

[In emphasis Spock rubs his hand a little bit over Traveler's head.]

[over the link comes the image of snow, and in the snow the traveler stands at the apex of a drawn heart. it looks up at Spock and the image fades.]

[Spock blushes a bit at the affection...he hopes he comes across Traveler again relatively soon.]

[Spock nods and rubs Traveler's head once more for good measure then stands as he removes his hand. Spock lifts his hand in a Ta'al...]

[the connection is broken and the traveler is dazed for a bit. it's so strange to be able to communicate with someone. bizarre, even, but it was nice. it looks up at Spock and trills to him, then turns and starts walking off through the forest.]
