[the traveler has appeared on the edge of town along the road. anyone in the surrounding buildings may have heard it chirping and calling out as it runs toward the town square. and anyone it encounters along the way will have a close to three foot tall red cloaked creature running circles around them.

[Well, that's certainly surprising. Kohaku flinches back slightly when the scarf suddenly expands, but once she realizes it hasn't exploded or something, she just laughs. When the traveler takes off, she flaps her own wings and lifts off the ground to follow it upwards.]

[it flies for as long as it can, flapping its cloak to keep airborne as it tries to head for the forest and the mountain beyond. it a good few yards and then slowly, the power drained from its scarf, it begins to drift toward the ground.]

[She flies along with it, but it's not long at all before the owlish little creature is sinking again.]

Oh dear. I don't think your scarf is that efficient...

[Providing it with constant energy could cause her wings to de-manifest, as well. Fortunately, though, another idea comes to mind pretty quickly. Fluttering lower, Kohaku gently wraps her arms around the traveler's midsection and flaps her wings powerfully, lifting them both into the sky. Her new companion is small enough that this isn't difficult.]

[it's used to this, but suddenly there are arms around it and WHOA THEY ARE FLYING WITHOUT HAVING TO FLAP WHAT]

[Well, she's flapping he own wings, but it probably can't tell from this angle. At its sudden outburst, she looks down at her little passenger.]

♪? Are you alright?

[Oh dear, what if it's nervous now?]
