[the traveler has appeared on the edge of town along the road. anyone in the surrounding buildings may have heard it chirping and calling out as it runs toward the town square. and anyone it encounters along the way will have a close to three foot tall red cloaked creature running circles around them.

[it keeps walking, fascinated that it doesn't have to flap to stay afloat and eventually comes to a clearing. it stops in the center and looks up at the mountains barely peeking out from beyond the trees and pauses.

such a long way to go...]

[Following the creature, the wind god stops in the clearing as well, pointing up at the mountain]

You want to go there? Its far. But there is another way, if you follow me.

[She points in the direction of the teleporter]

[it will follow since this new Other has been here longer, and it is smart to follow those that have gone before.

it turns and walks over to her, looking where she is pointing]

[And off she goes, heading to the teleporter.]

It may feel strange. But step on it with me.

[She waits for the Traveler, her foot raised just over the panel that'd take them to the mountains...or the beach...she's not sure since she's only used it once. Recipe for disaster get?]

[what..........uhhhhhh

it hesitates for a moment and then runs ahead, figuring this is just another trial to get to the mountain. oops.]

[And...apparently she got it wrong! And they're on the beach!]

Oh dear. That was the wrong one...

[SAND!! IT'S HOME!!

the traveler twitters excitedly and runs circles in the sand, trudging through it happily and kicking up little clouds]

You like this place, little one?

[She joins it, kicking up motes of sand merrily]

[home home home!!!

the traveler flops down in the sand and rolls in it for a moment. it gets up and starts looking around, but it can't see the familiar mountain at all.

climbing to the nearest dune it calls]

♪!

Here!

[Saori follows, looking out towards the ocean]

Do you like the sea?

[what the Elders is that thing?!

the traveler stops when it sees the water and backs up a step. what is that? it starts running for the water, not sure what it is]

It's water. Be careful and don't go out too far!

[She trots after the little guy, hoping that he understands]

[WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE--------

OH ELDERS.

it hits the water and trips, falling into the wet substance and AAAAAH IT CAN'T SWIM. cue reckless and hapless flailing]

Hey!

[Saori dashes over to the water and leaps in, wrapping her arms around the flailing Traveler and hauling him out of the water]

No, that's dangerous. You can't swim can you?

[whyyyyyyy

that was not fun at all.

the traveler looks up at Saori and lets out a wet trill like a garbled violin and flops over in her arms]

Hey there, it's ok.

[Saori hauls him out onto the sand and calls up a breeze to dry him off]

That's not good for you.

[she's made of wind~ she's the beeeest~

it's still a bit damp, but it seems to be a bit happier now that it's not sopping wet and it swings its legs happily]

[She lets it go on dry land]

Remember that. It's not good for you, little friend.

[when it hits the sand again it pips and runs forward and...promptly falls into the sand. hooray!! it kicks its legs happily even if it's face-down in sand.]

I'm glad you're OK, little one.

[Yes, it is okay and it is quite happy! But it needs to travel. The mountain is in the distance again and so it stands up, looks at Saori and trills at her. Then it turns and runs off over a sand dune, ready to move along to its next destination. It doesn't seem to mind if she comes or not, but it's moving with purpose now and is quickly disappearing into the distance.]

[This time, she doesn't follow, instead turning to watch the waves]

I'll see you again little one!
