[Well, the little thing was trying but it didn't seem like there was any common language between them. How odd...she'd gotten too accustomed to the wings translating everything which put her a little out of touch on how to go about communicating with the little thing.
First, try to establish language...this time Sabriel writes out a full sentence in the sand, a simple phrase that she can act out if she needs to.

When it had sung earlier and showed that mark it was like it was letting go of a burst of wind...almost like how she had whistled her Paperwing into flight. Tipping her head in thought she takes a deep breath and lets out a soft, low whistle, imbued with the Charter marks for a gathering breeze.
