[the traveler has appeared on the edge of town along the road. anyone in the surrounding buildings may have heard it chirping and calling out as it runs toward the town square. and anyone it encounters along the way will have a close to three foot tall red cloaked creature running circles around them.

[It's seen people do this a lot today, so the traveler runs up to Toph's hand and bumps its head against it like a cat or dog.]

[She pats its head, a small smile forming on her lips. This things sounds pretty weird, but Toph has made friends with some pretty weird creatures here before.]

[It sings for her name and bumps against her hand again. Let's go traveling, buddy!]

[She isn't sure why, but she gets the impression that this whatever-it-was wants her to follow it. Sooo she takes a few steps.]

[The traveler moves off and starts moving toward the woods.]

[She hesitates, because she really doesn't have a good reason to go running off into the forest with some weird creature she doesn't know. But it isn't like she was doing anything pressing here, and it could be fun, so...

She goes running after it.]

Wait up!

[When Toph runs after it, it stops at the edge of the woods and chirps, waiting for her.]

[Should she talk back? Whistle? She can't exactly chirp...

So she decides to whistle as she nears it.]

[It waits until Toph is closer and then sends out a louder peal of sound, the waves of it rustling leaves away from their feet. Then it turns and looks toward the mountains peeking out over the treeline.]

The mountains? [She figures from the direction its facing.] Why there?

[It can't give visions like the Elders do, so it simply throws its head back and lets out a peal of song and energy.]
