[it's been learning and it has learned how to do one very important thing. the traveler draws an image on the journal for everyone to see since it seems appropriate, what with how everyone is acting.]

[since it can only answer the journal by stepping on it, the traveler is going to be out and following after people it thinks is interesting.

which is pretty much everyone in the village. it's curious as to why suddenly everyone is trying to find Others with such vehemence, so when it sees someone, it will run after them to follow them. maybe they can give it a clue as to what is going on.]

[Hm...while Cilan still isn't capable of speaking "musical notes" other than whistling back a little, it almost sounds like it's curious--come to think of it, it probably wouldn't know what a Pokemon is anyway.]

Pokemon are a type of creature that lives in my world, and we're friends with them. [Pansage will proceed to jump down from Cilan's shoulder to stand in front of the traveler where it'll be able to get a better look at the green monkey, and vice versa. Sup?]

[the traveler starts when Cilan's Other jumps down from his shoulder, surprised by the sudden movement. but when the monkey just stands in front of it, the traveler's curiosity wins out and it leans in close to Pansage's face, tilting its head this way and that.

Pansage. Pansage. Cilan's Other. hello!]

[Pansage leans back a little when it starts getting really close up to it's face, but otherwise doesn't move from where it's standing, just as curious about the other. Cilan leans down a little too to better match the heights of the traveler and Pansage rather than continuing to tower over both of them.]

Pansage, you'll treat our friend here kindly as well, right? [Pansage chatters something that sounds like agreement. Unlike the traveler, it looks like Pansage can speak...it just sounds like pieces of it's own name rather than speaking like how Cilan does.]

[oooh, how does it do that? the traveler leans forward a little more when Pansage leans back, teetering on its pointed feet beyond the point where it probably should have fallen over. then it rolls back and tilts its head to the side]

[it whistles at Pansage and fluffs its cloak. it cannot understand you, curious green friend, but then it can't understand anyone here really. the traveler chirrups and runs off a short distance, curving back around to trace out a heart on the ground]

[Hm? Cilan straightens up a little again to see what it was drawing...oh!]

My, how charming! Your drawing has such a sweet taste to it! [Seriously, that is cute...and apparently the traveler can draw, who knew.]

[it sings and runs a circle around its drawing before coming back toward Cilan and Pansage. it makes it halfway there and then trips suddenly, falling face down on the ground. ouch]

Oh! [Oh dear. Cilan and Pansage will immediately come over to it as he kneels down again, make sure that it's okay.]

Are you alright?

...

[its feet start kicking even as it lies on the ground and it pips at him, the sound muffled by the earth]

[Sigh. Here, let us try to help you back up--wait, does this guy even have arms, we can't recall ever having seen them. Nonetheless, Cilan (with Pansage's assistance) will attempt to try to help the traveler to stand again and not lying face-down on the ground.]

Are you okay? [Yes, we know we asked that already, but we feel the need to ask again just to be sure.]

[oh! there you are. the traveler swings its legs until it's back on the ground and then hops a few times, happy to see Cilan and Pansage again. it doesn't seem to have arms and it's extremely light - almost like a bolt of cloth and nothing more. it looks up at Cilan and trills, swishing its cloak back and forth to get rid of any dust and dirt on it.]

...Well, we're relieved to see that you're alright. [Judging by it's trilling, it doesn't sound like it's hurt.] Just try to be a little more careful so that you don't trip again, okay?

♩♬　[it looks from Cilan to Pansage and leans its face in close to the Pokemon. will Pansage play with it?

it takes a step back and wobbles then falls over onto the ground again at Pansage's feet.]

[Oops. Maybe we should have figured that it wouldn't understand our warning.

Pansage will try to help the traveler back up again as he chatters some Pokemon speak at it curiously. We can't really understand your whistling, but if we could we probably would be alright with playing? It's just a matter of what kind of game you'd want to play.]

[when it is picked back up, it looks from Cilan to Pansage and chatters back at him, mimicking the Pokemon's sounds. it tilts its head and then turns in a circle, looking from Pansage to the ground and back again many times.

then it flops over and kicks its feet in the air happily]

[Okay, he has to laugh a little at that, where as Pansage looks a little confused.]

You certainly have quite a carefree flavor to your taste... [Here let us offer some headpats.]

[the traveler rolls on its stomach from side to side when it receives another set of Cilan's headpats. it likes that.

this is only going to encourage it to flop to the floor whenever it sees Cilan now. floor = headpats. yay.

it gets up after a moment and attempts to climb up onto Cilan. it has no arms so it just uses its little pointed feet to step on any angle it can - his feet, knees, anything]

[But if you want headpats you don't have to throw yourself to the floor for them--whoa wait what are you doing now.

Cilan startles at the sudden climbing attempt being done on him--the traveler will probably make it as far as his knees from where Cilan had been kneeling down before he places a hand on it's shoulder to keep it from going any further yet.]

What are you doing? [Wait why do we keep asking things we know we won't get an answer too. Pansage seems confused too before it then starts gesturing towards it's trainer's shoulders and upper arms--are you trying to climb on him like we were doing earlier?]

[noooo don't push it down....! the traveler presses back against his hand, but there isn't much strength behind it. being made of cloth doesn't exactly lend to...muscles.

it pips and tries to press back. it wants to cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimb. Pansage was up here earlier. it must be special. the traveler wants to seeeeeee]

...Do you want us to pick you up? [You appear to be rather light so it wouldn't be that difficult. So he'll stop pushing you back from climbing, but now he's using both hands to pick and hold the traveler up above the ground as Cilan stands back up properly. If you had arms we wouldn't be as bothered by you trying to climb on us (less likely to fall if you could catch yourself) but for now he'll just see how it reacts to this.]

How's this? [The second he thinks you've got an objection, he'll make sure to put you back down, we promise!]

[THIS IS SO WEIRD

but hey, it is higher and it is closer to his shoulders, so sure, it can deal with this. after the initial freak-out moment where it looked around as the ground grew further and further away, the traveler looks up at Cilan and kicks its legs back and forth happily. wheeeeeeee it's tall now]

[If our shoulders were broader, you'd probably be able to sit on them, but alas, they are not. But we're glad that you seem to be having fun, at least.

His Pansage wants in on this too rather than staying below on the ground, so it'll be jumping up to grab one of Cilan's shoulders again to cling to as it waves at the traveler with a free hand. Hi there! o/]

[noooo it wants to do what Pansage is doing!

...not that it knows how because how do arms even work, but still! it wiggles and chirps at Pansage, leaning its face forward even though it cannot reach. then it looks at Cilan and leans its face toward him before tossing its head back as it lets out a loud burst of music and energy]

♩!

[Whoa, that is loud--to Cilan's credit, he manages to not drop it at the sudden noise, but he does kneel back down to set it on the ground momentarily as he seems to be checking to make sure he's not suffering from hearing loss...no, okay, we're still good.]

Th--that was quite a loud shout... [Ow. We still can't tell if the noise was meant to be a good or bad thing, but if it's any consolation, his shoulders are close enough to try to climb on them again. ~~Provided it doesn't fall off or topple him over onto the ground completely. ^^;;~~]

[oops. sorry, Cilan, it just gets excited easily and shouting was the way it used to power up its buddy.

back on the ground, the traveler looks at Cilan and tilts its head. then it looks at Pansage and realises they are nearly eye-level. HEY! CLIMBING TIME.

the traveler flaps its cloak once and lifts into the air, floating up and then back down onto Cilan's unoccupied shoulder. despite its size, it weighs next to nothing and balances quite easily on his shoulder.

TRIUMPH]

[Oh! Cilan seems to get it now--though he's not making to stand up just yet, still keeping on his knees for now as he laughs a little.]

I take it you like the view from there? [Maybe it was jealous of Pansage getting to hang out there? Pansage is looking curiously past it's trainer's head at the other now. Does it really not have arms to hold onto with...?]
