[the traveler has appeared on the edge of town along the road. anyone in the surrounding buildings may have heard it chirping and calling out as it runs toward the town square. and anyone it encounters along the way will have a close to three foot tall red cloaked creature running circles around them.

[It's fun talking, but now the traveler wants to journey and it turns, running a small ways off into the distance before turning back to look at Saori.]

[She nods and follows, wondering where he'll take her]

[With Saori following, the traveler begins to run across the grass, heading into the woods. It will take her as far as she will follow as it tries to find its way through the underbrush and toward the mountains far in the distance.]

[She doesn't stop following it until it starts weaving among the trees. She gets a sense that it wants to be left to its own devices, and stops, though if it turns following would be a simple task.]

[it gets a fair distance ahead and then turns, looking back for Saori.]

[where did my buddy go ;A; ]

[Seeing the Traveler turn and look, she waves and rushes on after him, catching up to him with relative ease]

♩♩ [And a smile, telling it to lead on]

[hooray buddy! the traveler chimes back and then runs on, heading toward the mountains in the distance. she's fast! this will be fun!

walk walk walk, trudge trudge trudge

oh god, forest. the traveler stops as it comes to a bush, remembering this particular opponent. the last time it tried to walk through, it got stuck and fell down. it looks at the bush for a moment and tries walking around.

...nope, more bushes.

it stops and looks at it. how do i get around it.........]

[Saori follows, watching closely as the odd little creature tries to pass through the bushes. It seems reluctant, so she stops and gives it an odd, long whistle.]

[And then the wind comes alive under its feet, raising it just above bush height, so he can run on air!]

[OH MY ELDERS, WHAT IS THIS---

oooh, cool.

its legs spin in the air uselessly for a moment and then it flaps and starts running, easing over the bush and into the forest]

[And she follows easily behind, keeping up the air so that he can keep himself out of trouble. Whatever this creature is, he's very entertaining, and charming in his own special way.

[it keeps walking, fascinated that it doesn't have to flap to stay afloat and eventually comes to a clearing. it stops in the center and looks up at the mountains barely peeking out from beyond the trees and pauses.

[Following the creature, the wind god stops in the clearing as well, pointing up at the mountain]

You want to go there? Its far. But there is another way, if you follow me.

[She points in the direction of the teleporter]

[it will follow since this new Other has been here longer, and it is smart to follow those that have gone before.

it turns and walks over to her, looking where she is pointing]

[And off she goes, heading to the teleporter.]

It may feel strange. But step on it with me.

[She waits for the Traveler, her foot raised just over the panel that'd take them to the mountains...or the beach...she's not sure since she's only used it once. Recipe for disaster get?]

[what..........uhhhhhh

it hesitates for a moment and then runs ahead, figuring this is just another trial to get to the mountain. oops.]

[And...apparently she got it wrong! And they're on the beach!]

Oh dear. That was the wrong one...

[SAND!! IT'S HOME!!

the traveler twitters excitedly and runs circles in the sand, trudging through it happily and kicking up little clouds]

You like this place, little one?

[She joins it, kicking up motes of sand merrily]

[home home home!!!

the traveler flops down in the sand and rolls in it for a moment. it gets up and starts looking around, but it can't see the familiar mountain at all.

climbing to the nearest dune it calls]

[Saori follows, looking out towards the ocean]

Do you like the sea?

[what the Elders is that thing?!

the traveler stops when it sees the water and backs up a step. what is that? it starts running for the water, not sure what it is]

It's water. Be careful and don't go out too far!

[She trots after the little guy, hoping that he understands]

it hits the water and trips, falling into the wet substance and AAAAAH IT CAN'T SWIM. cue reckless and hapless flailing]

[Saori dashes over to the water and leaps in, wrapping her arms around the flailing Traveler and hauling him out of the water]

No, that's dangerous. You can't swim can you?

the traveler looks up at Saori and lets out a wet trill like a garbled violin and flops over in her arms]
